Chhatra League lights up in protest of rape

The Upazila Chhatra League has held a program in Kalmakanda of Netrokona to protest against the rape and torture of women across the country, including the incident of violence against women in Noakhali.

On Wednesday (October 8) night, an hour-long human chain program was held by lighting candles on the road in front of the Upazila Awami League office. Hundreds of leaders and activists of Upazila Juba League and Chhatra League participated in it.

Palash Kanti Biswas, general secretary of Upazila Juba League, Mostafizur Rahman Moyna, leader of Juba League, GS Abdul Wahab, Tajuddin Ahmed, Masud Kabir, Chhatra League leaders Sohail Mia, Manik Mirza, Russell Khan, Hridoy Mia and Sabbir spoke demanding speedy trial of the rapists. Leaders and activists of Chhatra League including Hossain and Anik Saha.

Speakers said rapists are the worst animals in society. They have no team. Whoever the rapist is, he must be brought to justice. We have instructed our leaders and workers to arrest the rapists and hand them over to the law enforcement agencies wherever they see Evtizer.

We will request the mothers and sisters to inform the administration if they are being harassed or raped anywhere. The speakers demanded to boycott the rapist socially.
