Two people have been killed in a head-on collision between a truck and an autorickshaw in Netrokona. Three autorickshaw passengers including two women were injured. The injured have been admitted to Netrokona Modern Sadar Hospital.
The accident took place on Netrokona-Mohanganj road at Bangla Nayapara of Sadar Union’s Bangla Union around 8:30 am on Tuesday.
The deceased have been identified as Kamal Mia, 35, son of Chan Mia of Bangla village and Jasim Mia, 38, son of late Yusuf Ali of Noa Nagar village in Thakurakona union. She was a teacher at Satarashree Sadia Mahila Madrasa.
Netrokona Additional Sadar Circle Morsheda Khanam confirmed the matter.
Police and locals said they were on their way to Netrokona from Bangla Bazar in Sadar Upazila around 8:30 am today. At that time, a fast moving cement truck coming from the opposite direction collided head on. Two people were killed on the spot.
After receiving the news, the rescue workers of Netrokona Fire Service came and rescued the three and sent them to the hospital.
