Mobile court fines for illegal brick kilns

A mobile court in Lalmonirhat Aditmari Upazila has imposed a fine of Tk 1 lakh by stopping illegal brickfields on crop lands.

On Monday (December 21) afternoon, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Muhammad Mansur Uddin closed the Sun to Brickfield in Bishar Dola of Sarpukur Union of the upazila and collected the fine.

According to the Upazila Nirbahi Officer’s Office, Entaj Ali built a brick field called Sun Two on the crop land in Bishar Dola of Sarpukur Union of the upazila without permission.

The local farmers lodged a written complaint with the deputy commissioner to stop the illegal brick field. Aditmari Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Muhammad Mansur Uddin conducted a mobile court with the police on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Abu Jafar.



At that time, if the owner of the brick field failed to show the valid documents, he ordered the owner of the brick kiln to pay a fine of one lakh rupees and keep the brick field closed until the valid documents are shown.

Aditmari Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Muhammad Mansur Uddin confirmed the incident.
