Afternoon meeting on public transport fare due to fuel price increase
Dhaka Transport Owners Association will hold a meeting to adjust the fares of public transport due to the increase in the price of fuel oil. The meeting will be held with the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) at the BRTA office at Banani in the capital on Saturday (August 6) afternoon.
Enayet Ullah, general secretary of the Dhaka Transport Owners Association, confirmed the matter and said that the transport owners will hold a meeting with BRTA in the afternoon mainly on the issue of fare increase due to the increase in the price of fuel oil.
Meanwhile, according to BRTA sources, due to the increase in the price of fuel oil in the country, the transport owners may come to a decision on increasing the transport fare in the meeting.
In a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy on Friday (August 5) night, the price of diesel has been increased by Tk 34 to Tk 114 per litre, while the price of kerosene has also been increased by Tk 34 to Tk 114 per litre. The price of petrol has been increased by 44 rupees to 130 rupees and the price of octane has been increased by 46 rupees to 135 rupees per liter.
